Arusha National Park is close enough to the city for a day trip but varied enough to feel like a proper introduction to northern Tanzania. Forest, Momella Lakes and Mount Meru scenery create a different atmosphere from the larger safari parks.
Activities
Depending on current conditions and permits, the day can include a game drive, ranger-guided walk or canoeing. It is particularly good for giraffe, primates, birdlife and landscape photography.
Best use
Choose it for an arrival day with enough time, a gentle safari before flying home, or as an extra day around a Kilimanjaro climb.
